Zoonou is one of the UK’s leading software testing companies, 100% employee-owned and a Certified B Corporation®.

We don’t just test software - we help our clients create better digital experiences that work for everyone. Because we’re co-owners, we all have a genuine stake in how we do it.

We’re growing sustainably, balancing profit with purpose, and building a company that puts people first: our clients and each other. At Zoonou, the work matters. The way we do it matters even more.

The role

We’re looking for an Assistant Project Manager who’s proactive, organised, and loves keeping things running smoothly. Someone who enjoys helping teams collaborate, supporting clients to get the most out of their digital products, and ensuring projects deliver real impact.

Working alongside our Test Delivery Managers, you’ll keep client projects running smoothly from start-to-finish. You’ll work with clients to understand their goals and requirements and guide them through the testing process. Following our defined processes, you’ll coordinate test resources and collaborate with stakeholders across different teams to make sure everything stays on track.

If you enjoy seeing projects succeed, keeping teams aligned, and helping clients achieve their goals, you’ll fit right in.

What you’ll do as our Assistant Project Manager

You’ll work closely with our Test Delivery Managers to keep projects on track. You’ll step in to help colleagues when needed, including periods of leave. You’ll also guide clients through the quality assurance process providing friendly, responsive support.

A typical day for an Assistant Project Manager, in collaboration with the Test Delivery Managers, might include:

  • Performing project related administrative tasks and setting up projects for success.
  • Collaborating with clients by email and call to understand their goals, guiding them through our services and the testing process.
  • Leading stand-up meetings with our testers and making sure everyone understands the deliverables and their responsibilities.
  • Maintaining team processes, so projects run efficiently and meet our high-quality standards.
  • Managing resource requests and changes to keep everything on track.
  •  Reviewing Statement of Work agreements, to ensure they’re accurate and reflective of the services we will deliver for clients.
  • Sharing testing progress with clients through daily or weekly reports and flagging risks early to keep everyone aligned.

Every project is different, so you’ll have the chance to work with a wide range of clients and digital experiences. You’ll be a key point of contact for clients and an important link between different teams, helping to ensure projects run smoothly and deliver real value.

A little bit about your skills, experience and behaviours

You don’t need to tick every box - what matters most is being proactive, organised, detail-oriented and a clear communicator. If you’re looking for a new opportunity and have the core values and skills we’re looking for, this could be the role for you. Here’s what we think would set you up for success:

  • 2+ years of professional experience in a project management, team lead or similar role.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks.
  • Clear, calm and confident communication, able to adapt your approach to different audiences and build positive relationships with clients.
  • Independent, taking ownership of your workload while supporting colleagues to keep projects on track.
  • Responsive, with an eye for spotting risks early and solving problems proactively.
  • Confident using Microsoft and Google software, including Outlook, Teams, Excel and Google Sheets.

Nice-to-have skills:

  • Project management certifications or qualifications.
  • Experience or knowledge of project management tools.
  • Experience or knowledge of software testing, development, test management and bug-tracking tools.
  • ISTQB certifications or other software testing qualifications.
  • A degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience).

We’re looking for the best talent to join us on our journey; we’re also seeking people who demonstrate behaviours aligned with our core values – observance, curiosity, positivity, and one-team. At Zoonou, how you do things matters as much as what you do.

Working hours and location

This role is flexible for the right candidate, and we’re happy to discuss working arrangements during the interview process. For example, you might work five days a week but with shorter hours - such as 9:30am - 3pm with a 30-minute lunch - so you can balance work with your life outside the office.

  • Hours: 22-25 hours per week
  • Location: Remote, office-based or hybrid.

What we offer

Just a few reasons why you’ll love working here:

  • Employee ownership bonus – the first £3,600 of our EO bonus is tax free.
  • Enhanced parental leave - we support our parents with advanced maternity and paternity cover.
  • Paid volunteer days – we each get two days paid leave to volunteer our time for causes that we personally care about.
