How to apply
Applying for a new role should feel exciting, not overwhelming. That's why we’ve created an application process that’s transparent, inclusive, and fair.
This page walks you through each stage, so you know what to expect and feel supported to bring your best self to the journey.
Come as you are
Everyone brings something unique, and we value that. We want you to feel comfortable being your authentic self every day - no matter your age, ethnicity, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability status, caring responsibilities, neurodiversity, or otherwise.
And you don’t need to tick every box to apply. If you meet some of the key criteria and the role excites you, we’d genuinely love to hear from you.
What to expect during your application journey
Our application process is designed to give you the space to showcase your skills, experience, and what you bring to the role - and to our (and possibly, your) company.
Equally important is how you align with our values - as an employee-owned company and a B Corp, how we do things matters just as much as what we do.
-
Step 1: submitting your application
To apply, simply answer the key questions on our application form and upload your CV. One of our key questions is: “Tell us about yourself and why you’d be a great fit for our company.” We’re looking for more than just your past experience - we want to understand your skills, values, and what you could bring to our company.
We'll check your application against the basic requirements (such as location or visa status). Identifying information is then removed before your CV and answers are independently reviewed by two team members. We use a scoring matrix as a guide to help ensure fairness, while taking a rounded view of each candidate.
-
Step 2: first stage interview
If you’re selected to move forward, we’ll invite you to a first-stage interview lasting around 30 - 45 minutes. This stage focuses on soft skills, values, and team fit rather than technical experience.
You’ll meet with the hiring manager and at least one other team member, chosen to be as diverse as possible. Candidates are assessed using consistent questions and the scoring matrix as a guide.
-
Step 3: second stage interview
The second-stage interview lasts around 45 - 60 minutes and focuses on the key requirements of the role. It’s a great opportunity for you to ask any questions about the role, the team, or the company.
You’ll meet with the same two interviewers from the first stage, and we may introduce an additional team member. In some cases, you may be asked to complete a task beforehand, such as a presentation to deliver during the interview - we’ll provide all the details with your invite.
-
Step 4: job offer
We make hiring decisions collaboratively, looking at the whole picture - your interviews, any tasks, and the conversations we’ve had along the way. The scoring matrix helps guide us, but it’s never the only factor.
If you’re offered the role, we’ll email you with all the details and support you through the onboarding steps. We’ll also request two work references and confirm your right to work before your first day.
If we’re not able to move forward, we’ll let you know - and wherever possible, we’ll share constructive feedback to support your future applications.
Our aim throughout is to keep the process fair, transparent, and respectful, so every candidate feels supported and valued.
Support along the way
Throughout the application process, Ashleigh, our Workplace and Compliance Coordinator, will be your main point of contact. Ashleigh will handle communications and answer any questions you have. She'll also join your interviews as a neutral observer to ensure each stage is carried out consistently and respectfully, helping create a fair experience for every candidate.
Accessibility and adjustments
We want everyone to feel able to participate fully in our hiring process. If you need any adjustments - whether related to a disability, long-term health condition, caring responsibilities, childcare, or religious observance - just let us know. You can share this in your application or reach out to Ashleigh directly at careers@zoonou.com.
Once you do, we’ll work with you to understand what support would be most helpful and make any adjustments we can.
