Junior Security Test Analyst
Are you our next expert pen tester?
Location: Remote or Hybrid - Eastbourne
Salary: £30,000 per year DOE
Zoonou is one of the UK’s leading software testing companies, 100% employee-owned and a Certified B Corporation®.
We don’t just test software - we help our clients create better digital experiences that work for everyone. Because we’re co-owners, we all have a genuine stake in how we do it.
We’re growing sustainably, balancing profit with purpose, and building a company that puts people first: our clients and each other. At Zoonou, the work matters. The way we do it matters even more.
The role
We’re looking for someone with strong technical foundations - maybe you’re a Computer Science graduate, someone with IT or networking experience, or have a technical skill set who wants to pivot into cybersecurity.
You don’t need to be an expert in penetration testing yet - we’ll provide the training, mentorship, and hands-on experience to help you grow those skills and build a rewarding career.
If you’re curious, enjoy solving technical challenges, and want to help clients make their digital products safer, this is your chance to start a career in a fast-growing field.
What you’ll do as our Junior Security Test Analyst
You’ll help clients understand how secure their applications are, identify potential vulnerabilities, and communicate findings in a way that makes a real difference.
A typical day might involve:
- Planning and scoping projects, understanding requirements, and assessing risks.
- Exploring client web applications, gathering information, and identifying potential vulnerabilities.
- Running manual and automated tests using the OWASP Top 10 as a guide.
- Documenting and reporting findings clearly, escalating critical issues when necessary.
- Working directly with clients to explain issues and next steps.
- Collaborating with colleagues to share knowledge, improve testing approaches, and learn new tools.
Every project is different - you’ll rotate between hands-on testing, collaborative problem-solving and guiding clients through findings. Along the way, you’ll grow your expertise, learn from experienced team members, and play a real part in helping clients strengthen their digital security - all within a supportive, flexible, and ambitious environment.
A little bit about your skills, experience and behaviours
You don’t need to have all the skills of an experienced penetration tester - what matters most is curiosity, a strong technical foundation, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate clearly.
Here’s what we think would set you up for success:
- A solid foundation in IT, networking, or computer science.
- A natural curiosity and enthusiasm for exploring technology and solving problems.
- Ability to translate technical concepts into plain language, making complex security issues easy to understand for clients and colleagues.
- Organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage your own workload while supporting the team.
- A desire to learn and grow your skills in cybersecurity, keeping up to date with trends and best practices.
Nice-to-have skills:
- Previous testing or security experience.
- Coding or scripting knowledge.
- Engagement with the cybersecurity community (blogs, forums, events, or meetups).
We’re looking for the best talent to join us on our journey; we’re also seeking people who demonstrate behaviours aligned with our core values – observance, curiosity, positivity, and one-team. At Zoonou, how you do things matters as much as what you do.
