Zoonou is pleased to announce a successful application to G-Cloud 9 the UK government award framework for buying cloud computing services and products. G-Cloud, via the Digital Marketplace, allows UK public sector bodies to buy quickly from suppliers rather than having to set up lengthy, costly tender or competition processes. Speaking from their offices in Eastbourne, East Sussex, Nick Turton, Zoonou’s managing director said:
“We felt that the time was right for us to open up our service to the public sector after spending 10 years establishing a good reputation and track record with our private sector clients. We believe that the public sector will want to receive the same kind of responsive and professional software testing services that we offer and G-Cloud is the best entry point for us.”
G-Cloud 9 is made up of three procurement lots, Cloud Hosting, Cloud Software and Cloud Support. It is part of the UK’s Digital Marketplace where other frameworks can also be found for buying cloud services used by the public sector and includes central government, local authorities, health, education, not-for-profit and devolved administrations.
Zoonou joined Lot 3 which is the Cloud Support framework where you can find services such as software testing and security, cloud migration and set-up as well as support and training. Zoonou has a number of services included in Lot 3 from functional and compatibility testing, system penetration testing, accessibility as well as load and performance testing.
In order to get their place on the framework, Zoonou sought the help of a local consultancy that guided them through the documentation and some of the more unfamiliar requirements. Nick says:
“It helped us a lot to think about some of the structures we would need to have in place in order to compete with other businesses and services. Using Advice Cloud also meant that we could use our time efficiently and not make the pitfalls we might have made for a new listing”.
Chris Farthing, managing director of Advice Cloud said:
“We are delighted that Zoonou were successful with their application. We love working with such passionate, committed companies and the fact that they are local is an extra bonus. I am confident that their excellence in software testing will be well received across the UK Public Sector.”
Zoonou joins other UK growth businesses on G-Cloud 9 who form an important part of the Crown Commercial Service’s (CCS) policy towards making public sector spending more accessible to smaller businesses. By 2020, it is hoped that over 30% of all government spending should be reaching small and medium sized businesses, benefiting the local economies they operate in.
