When your testing processes no longer fit
In 2016, System1 Group was growing and changing how their software development teams worked.
They had moved towards agile development, but their existing QA processes hadn't kept pace. Testing was becoming more demanding, with tools and ways of working that no longer suited the size and structure of the team.
Rather than adding more resource or investing in new systems, System1 Group wanted an independent perspective on what could work better.
They brought us in to review their QA approach and identify practical improvements.

We spent two days with System1 Group's team, getting to know how they developed and tested their internal software products. The review revealed opportunities to simplify their processes, reduce duplicated work and make better use of the tools they already had.
One of the clearest opportunities was an expensive legacy test management system that was no longer meeting their needs. We recommended replacing it with a simpler cloud-based alternative, saving System1 Group £2,500 a year in licensing costs.
We also helped the team refine their approach to exploratory and scripted testing, improve how they managed development tasks and introduce clearer, more consistent test documentation.
Importantly, the recommendations weren't just theoretical. We helped implement the changes and provided training so the team could continue using the new approach independently.
