What is your role at Zoonou?
I’m a QA Test Analyst here at Zoonou, and I’m responsible for testing our client’s applications and providing feedback to their teams. Currently, I’m working on a long-term test support project where I’m integrated into the client’s in-house team, joining their daily stand-up meetings and working on tasks such as testing of tickets, epics or even the creation of test matrixes.
Where are you from and how long have you been at Zoonou?
I’m from Coventry in the West Midlands and I joined Zoonou in September 2021 – so I’ve been here for 1.5 years now.
Before Zoonou, what were you doing?
I was studying at university for my undergraduate degree in Computer Systems Engineering. I became interested in quality assurance following a ‘Product Development’ module that covered concepts such as Kanban, Six Sigma and product reliability.
What do you enjoy most about working at Zoonou?
There is a big variety of projects which always keeps the workstream fresh; one day you could be testing a VR application and the next it could be a mobile game. By working on different projects, you get to interact and collaborate with different co-workers from Zoonou as well as members of the client’s team. Collaborating with co-workers is a really enjoyable part of testing – it allows us to build our collective knowledge and improve our test processes.
Entering the work world after university has been an amazing experience. Within the first year, I have learnt so much about testing as well as myself. It has been a great challenge and I always enjoy going down to the Head Office Eastbourne for a visit or cheeky social!
What is an interesting fact about yourself?
I have a passion for health and fitness and have competed in powerlifting in the past. I also enjoy playing hockey for my local team.
What achievement are you most proud of?
Persevering and graduating from university was a key achievement that I am proud of. Work achievements include gaining qualifications such as the ISTQB foundation and agile certificates. On one project I was responsible for creating a test matrix that the client used as the basis of all their testing – learning the client’s system and creating the matrix was rewarding especially when I saw instances of the client referring to it.
What’s on your bucket list?
Travelling as much as I can!
If you could time travel, where would you go? Why?
I wouldn’t as there is no time like today! And I totally wouldn’t want to accidentally change the past and then return to the present and notice that dinosaurs have taken over!
