The role:
We are searching for a Lead Automation Tester to join our Functional Test Team with the aim of building and maintaining test automation services for our valued clients. Working alongside our other QA experts and the wider team you will define and shape test automation solutions that deliver results and add value to client projects.
This role is equal parts reactive and proactive work; a ‘typical day’ could include responding to client queries, scoping a new project, creating test automation frameworks, evaluating test automation tools or assisting a junior tester with an automation query. To be successful in this role, you’ll need to be methodical, organised, and adaptable to changing priorities.
Responsibilities:
- Gather, define & document project requirements to shape test automation solutions for client projects.
- Mentoring our team of junior automation testers.
- Define automation testing standards for the team to follow.
- Act as test automation subject matter expert (SME) within the organisation.
- Assist with Pre-Sales activities including presenting to senior stakeholders.
- Establish good relationships with our clients.
You will be:
- A natural communicator with excellent oral, listening, written and presentation skills.
- Detail orientated, with a mindset focused on delivering quality throughout your work.
- Eager to build strong, effective working relationships with both client stakeholders and Zoonou colleagues.
- Adept at working under pressure, managing multiple workflows, and meeting deadlines.

- A critical thinker with a problem-solving attitude.
- Confident in your test automation skills and providing test automation solutions to clients.
Essential Skills
- 2-4 years of proven test automation experience.
- Demonstrable experience of creating test frameworks from scratch and understanding of design principles. Including ability to analyse and select test tools.
- Professionally capable with coding languages, Java, Javascript, C#, Python.
- Creating and maintaining automated test suites using Selenium and Cypress or similar.
- Experience of automated testing of web services, mobile applications, databases, API’s and web applications is required.
- Knowledge of Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment using tools such as Gitlab, Jenkins, Bamboo.
- Experience of working in an Agile software development environment.
- Ability to engage with stakeholders to understand requirements and communicate details of the test automation framework.
Bonus Points For
- Certified Tester Test Automation Engineer (CT-TAE).
- Able to commute to our Head Office in Eastbourne twice a week.
